Some of people think of being a marketer as an easy thing to do, some people think it is hard, some think it is bugging / annoying people, some think it is not an exclusive job to have, some think it is an easy way to make money and other things that people can think of.
Maybe people just see what they see in marketing people, or maybe people already tried it before, but first thing that people should know and considerate more about being a marketer is : “Do i really want to do this marketing thing ?” There are so many factors inside you that will affect your career in marketing.
You can see a successful marketer with high level position, high salary, big compensation and benefits, flexible working hours, meeting clients outside office, and other glamorous things that make different with other people who work in the office, as in back office for example. But what you does not or may not see is what and how they do beyond those to make them success in their career. You should elaborate the things first to understand how the marketer works and to know whether you are suitable and comfortable enough with the factors required or not.
